Request Syllabus / Call BackRunning Claude through Vertex AI puts it inside your Google Cloud governance perimeter, which is the whole point — and it changes how you build. You enable Claude in Model Garden, work the regions and quotas, and make your first call through the Vertex endpoint, mapping what ports from the direct API and what does not. You then wire it in properly: service accounts with least privilege, VPC Service Controls as a perimeter around model access, Cloud Logging and Monitoring, and secret management for credentials the model must never see. The build module grounds Claude on your actual data — BigQuery, Cloud Storage and vector search — and covers tool use, streaming, batch prediction and fitting into Cloud Run or GKE. It closes on governance, CMEK and per-project cost attribution.
